I’ve written and directed and produced theatrical plays for children in Northern California and New York since 1994. I’ve worked with children aged 2-18 in all aspects of theatre including: acting, improv, set design, costume creation, writing, directing and stage-managing. My original production, Lalaina’s Rose, a modern musical based on Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet was a highlight for me because my teenage actors (and musical wonders) wrote the original haunting soundtrack for our show. Another highlight was directing a mythical performance in NYC at the Museum of Natural History for at-risk kids, written by New York playwright Bara Swain. Currently, I teach theatre and playacting at my son’s school where my current production is a modern twist of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, humorously titled Seven Unique Princesses.
